Getting the Best Price for Hair Restoration Surgery

Post image for Getting the Best Price for Hair Restoration Surgery

One of the more popular hair restoration surgical procedures that are currently being used is follicular unit hair transplants.  Additionally, this is one of the more successful restoration procedures that are being performed in many clinics today.  One of the primary concerns that most individuals have where hair restoration surgery is concerned is what costs are involved with these procedures and whether or not their budget will allow it.  Here are some suggestions for how to find the best price for this procedure.

Get several estimates before deciding on a particular surgeon – you should make a list of all the clinics you are considering for the hair restoration procedure you are considering instead of just settling on the first one you come across in your search.

Ask if the hair restoration surgeon offers a discount for referrals – some surgeons offer referral discounts when their former clients refer you to them for more “business.”  Some surgeons offer up to $1 off each follicular unit used in the transplant surgery.

Make a list of the estimates and then compare them across the board – you want to be assured that each of the hair restoration clinics you are considering employ similar calculation methods when it comes to establishing their pricing for the procedures they perform.  Some will charge by the individual hair while others will calculate their price by follicular units of 1 to 4 hairs that are growing in a cluster.

Just be aware that if the price is very low that this may be based in fewer transplanted units.  Additionally, if a lower price per unit is quoted, it may result in a higher price after the hair restoration procedure has been completed.  This is especially true for persons who need multiple procedures in order to complete the process.

Get an idea from the surgeon as to how many transplant procedures you’ll need – it’s not uncommon to undergo an average of two procedures to see that the hair restoration process is successfully completed.  You also want to be aware of the fact that some clinics will transplant more hair follicles in one procedure than some of the others do.  This could be more cost-effective for you in the long run.

On a closing note, you just want to remember that you need to make your decision by thoroughly reviewing and understanding all of your options.  A quick decision could have disastrous consequences.
